An evening of thought-provoking discussions on living longer, healthier lives.
On 26 February, the Rebel Book Club gathered at Good Company in Regent’s Place to delve into the fascinating topic of longevity. The event explored questions such as:
- If you could live forever, would you?
- How likely is it that we will significantly extend human lifespan in our lifetime?
- What lessons can we take from nature to live longer and healthier lives?
The discussion was inspired by Jellyfish Age Backwards by Nicklas Brendborg, which highlights how controlled stress, like wind for trees or exercise for humans, can promote longevity, and the importance of addressing cellular degeneration, the core process of ageing.
Attendees also learned practical insights, including breath retraining techniques from Jane Tarrant and the potential of tempeh as a key to longevity from Dr. A. Driando Ahnan-Winarno. Tech leader and health advocate Jo Dalton, along with Richie Barclay, Ph.D., and detox coach Adam Parker, shared their expertise on longevity habits, science, and ethics, emphasising the benefits of practices like saunas, cold water immersion, plant-based diets, and fostering community.
Rebel Book Club is a global community helping curious minds explore new topics and share insights. Since 2015, they’ve supported diverse learning styles through books, podcasts, talks, and more. Members connect regularly, in-person or online, to learn from experts and engage with a vibrant community.
