Flexible Co-working Lab Space

Now available at Regent's Place
6,500 sq ft of shared lab and co-working space

British Land has announced a new partnership with Co-Laboratories to deliver a range of co-working laboratory space at Regent’s Place.

The new 6,500 sq ft of shared lab and co-working space, located at 184–192 Drummond Street, is the first of its kind to be offered at Regent’s Place. It will offer lab bench and desk space on a short-term flexible basis, targeting early-stage biotech businesses with around 1-20 employees, providing them with a new entry point to the campus. It will allow these businesses to become operational quickly focusing on optimising their science, with the opportunity to scale from here into space across the campus.

This space will meet the needs of early-stage businesses who are under provided for across London, yet are a critical component of the world’s best knowledge clusters. Creating a hub and fostering a community of like-minded businesses to work alongside one another, whilst also having access to the wider campus community of more established businesses at Regent’s Place, will create the ideal environment for ambitious businesses to scale.

Co-Laboratories will manage the new space on behalf of British Land, bringing their expertise in developing community-driven incubators for startups across London and Cambridge.

Michael Wiseman, Head of Workspace Leasing and Science & Technology, at British Land said:

“A thriving community of early-stage businesses will be critical to London’s continued growth as a global innovation hub. Spaces like Drummond Street facilitate this by creating the ideal conditions for our next generation of ambitious businesses to scale with a clear pathway to future growth across the wider campus.

“Regent’s Place continues to rapidly emerge as a key hub for science and technology businesses in the heart of Europe’s most exciting knowledge cluster. As well as being ideally located, our campus model supports these businesses with clear pathways to growth and provides a place for collaboration and the serendipitous encounters that are so important for innovation. Adding this new facility to our ecosystem ensures we are uniquely positioned to provide lab space for businesses at every stage of their journey.”

A core part of British Land’s campus strategy is to target fast growing customers across a range of disciplines, including but not limited to, life sciences, science tech, physical sciences and technology. British Land already provides space, services and amenities for occupiers at different maturity stages from start-ups, through scale-ups to global HQ space, offering a range of spaces from workspace, dry labs, lab enabled and lab fitted.

Regent’s Place is located in London’s growing Knowledge Quarter, close to a range of academic and research institutions including The Francis Crick Institute; The Turing Institute; The Wellcome Trust and globally recognised academic institutions such as UCL and key research hospitals such as UCLH, who alongside UCL carry out over half of all early phase clinical trials in cell and gene therapy in the UK.
